Sought by furniture makers, interior designers, and custom millwork contractors for showpiece applications.
Mahogany Plywood
Classic GradeMahogany plywood delivers the warm reddish-brown tones and straight interlocked grain that has defined fine furniture and traditional cabinetry for centuries. Excellent workability and finish acceptance — a perennial choice for craftsmen who want character and durability.
Red Oak Plywood
Trade StandardRed Oak remains the workhorse of American domestic hardwood plywood. Prominent open grain, pink-red hue, and strong finishing characteristics make it a trusted choice for contractors needing reliable quality at value-grade pricing. Widely specified for kitchen and bath cabinetry.
Sapele Plywood
Ribbon-Stripe GrainSapele (Entandrophragma cylindricum) is a West African hardwood prized for its interlocked grain pattern that produces a dramatic ribbon-stripe figure under light. Mahogany-family with a rich reddish-brown color and exceptional hardness. A standout choice for luxury interiors and South Florida’s robust marine interior and yacht cabinetry market.
Teak Plywood
Marine GradeTeak is the premier wood for marine applications worldwide. Its natural oil content provides exceptional resistance to moisture, rot, and tropical conditions — making it the unrivaled choice for South Florida’s yacht interiors, boat cabinetry, and coastal luxury residential projects where durability and beauty must coexist.
Cherry Plywood
PremiumAmerican Black Cherry plywood is prized for its rich, warm reddish-brown tone that deepens beautifully with age and UV exposure. A furniture-maker’s favorite for high-end millwork, residential cabinetry, and architectural panel work throughout South Florida.
Ash Plywood
Strong & StraightWhite Ash plywood features a bold, open grain pattern with a pale cream-to-light-tan face — one of the hardest domestic species available. Exceptional impact resistance makes it the go-to for commercial flooring underlayment, sports facilities, and industrial casework.
Hickory Plywood
Hardest DomesticHickory is the hardest and heaviest domestic hardwood plywood available. Its dramatic color variation — from pale cream sapwood to dark reddish-brown heartwood — creates a striking, rustic character face ideal for lodge-style interiors, bar fronts, and accent walls throughout South Florida.
Alder Plywood
Paint-ReadyRed Alder plywood is the most common hardwood plywood for painted cabinet applications on the West Coast and increasingly popular in Florida. Its uniform, tight grain takes paint and lacquer exceptionally well — delivering a smooth, defect-free surface at a more accessible price point than Maple.
Beech Plywood
European FavoriteEuropean Beech plywood brings fine, consistent grain and exceptional hardness to demanding millwork and commercial interiors. A top choice for European-style cabinetry, restaurant and hospitality fit-outs, and high-traffic retail displays requiring a durable, premium finish.

Poplar Plywood
Paint GradePoplar plywood is the industry standard for paint-grade interior cabinetry and furniture. Lightweight, stable, and easy to machine — it accepts primer and paint with virtually no grain telegraphing. One of the most cost-effective domestic hardwood species for large production cabinet runs.
Wenge Plywood
ExoticWenge plywood commands attention with its dramatically dark chocolate-brown to near-black tones and coarse, straight grain. A premium exotic species favored by luxury residential designers, high-end hospitality projects, and bespoke furniture makers throughout Miami and South Florida.
Anigre Plywood
Light & ElegantAnigre is a light-toned African hardwood with a fine, uniform grain and a subtle golden-cream hue. Highly regarded by Miami interior designers and millwork contractors for its clean, neutral face that takes stain evenly — an excellent substrate for custom finishes in high-end residential and hospitality projects.
Douglas Fir Plywood
StructuralDouglas Fir plywood combines structural integrity with an attractive straight grain and warm amber tone. A South Florida construction staple for exposed ceiling panels, architectural feature walls, and industrial-style interiors where both strength and visual character are required.
UV Coated Plywood
1-Side & 2-Side
UV coated plywood receives a factory-applied, UV-cured finish that produces a harder, more durable surface than any field-applied coating — at a fraction of the finishing labor cost. South Florida cabinet shops and production furniture manufacturers use UV coated sheets to eliminate sanding, priming, and finishing steps entirely.
No regional competitor publishes or stocks UV coated plywood by name. We carry UV1S and UV2S in Maple and Birch — the two species most commonly specified for UV-coated production runs.
UV1S — One Side
Face finished, back unfinished. Used when the back surface won’t be visible.
- Kitchen cabinet boxes
- Closet system panels
- RTA furniture components
- Drawer sides and bottoms
UV2S — Two Sides
Both face and back factory-finished. Required when both surfaces are visible or subject to wear.
- Open shelving & floating shelves
- Furniture tops and surfaces
- Commercial display cases
- Retail fixture components
White Oak & Walnut on MDF Core
MDF core plywood offers maximum flatness, consistent thickness, and smoother edge profiles — essential for high-end millwork, painted doors, and precision furniture where veneer-core movement is not acceptable.
White Oak on MDF Core
Plain-sliced or rift-cut White Oak veneer on a premium MDF substrate. Preferred by interior designers and millwork shops for its dimensional stability and flawless edge quality.
Why MDF Core?
- Flatter than veneer core — critical for flush-fit doors and panels
- Heavier and more stable — no spring or telegraphing
- Superior edge machining — routers cleanly without tearout
- No seasonal movement — consistent dimensions year-round in FL humidity
Walnut on MDF Core
American Black Walnut veneer on MDF core for maximum flatness and stability. The premium choice for wall cladding panels, architectural doors, and precision furniture where walnut’s beauty requires a perfectly stable substrate.
Why MDF Core?
- Zero spring — perfect for wall panels and large door faces
- Consistent substrate density throughout the sheet
- Ideal for CNC routing and precision joinery
- Walnut’s dark color masks edge treatment seamlessly
Understanding Hardwood Plywood Grades
Hardwood plywood is graded by the quality of the face veneer (first letter) and back veneer (second letter). The grade you choose determines the final appearance and whether additional finishing is required.
Our knowledgeable staff can help you select the right grade for your specific application — especially for mixed-use projects where face and back requirements differ.
Talk to a Specialist — (305) 884-0860| Grade | Face Quality | Back Quality | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| A1 | Premium — smooth, book-matched, no open defects | Sound, limited knots | Furniture fronts, cabinet doors, visible surfaces |
| B2 | Good — minor repairs, small knots | Utility, filled defects | Cabinet boxes, shelving, interior construction |
| C2 | Utility — open defects, natural character | Utility, filled defects | Industrial, shop furniture, non-visible backs |
| UV1S | A1 + factory UV finish (1 side) | Unfinished | Cabinet interiors, closets, RTA components |
| UV2S | A1 + factory UV finish (both sides) | A1 + factory UV finish | Shelving, furniture, visible both sides |

Common Questions from South Florida Trade Buyers
Before you call, here are the answers our customers ask most often about our domestic hardwood plywood selection.
Still have questions? Call usWhat species do you have in stock vs. what’s special order?
All 8 species listed on this page — Maple, Birch, White Oak, Walnut, Mahogany, Red Oak, Sapele, and Teak — are regularly stocked in our Doral warehouse. Specific grades, thicknesses, or veneer cuts (rift, quarter-sawn) may require a brief lead time. Call (305) 884-0860 to confirm exact availability before your visit.
Is domestic maple plywood better than import for cabinets?
Domestic maple plywood uses North American Hard Maple (Acer saccharum), which offers tighter, more consistent grain and better finish adhesion than many imported “maple-face” panels. For production cabinet shops and custom furniture makers, domestic maple provides grade consistency that import products don’t always match. Ask our team for a side-by-side sample comparison.
What’s the difference between UV1S and UV2S plywood?
UV1S has a factory UV-cured finish on the face side only — the back is unfinished raw veneer. Use UV1S when the back won’t be visible (cabinet boxes, closet panels, drawer sides). UV2S is finished on both sides — required when the plywood will be visible from both faces (open shelving, furniture panels, display cases). UV2S typically carries a small premium per sheet.
Do you carry White Oak on MDF core or Walnut on MDF core?
Yes to both. White Oak and Walnut on MDF core are in our regular inventory. MDF core is preferred for applications requiring maximum flatness and dimensional stability — particularly critical in South Florida’s climate. Interior designers and high-end millwork shops rely on MDF-core for flush-fit panel installations and precision door fabrication.
Can I buy hardwood plywood without a trade license?
We primarily serve licensed trade professionals (contractors, cabinet shops, furniture makers, interior designers), but we are happy to assist individual buyers. Contact us to discuss your project and we’ll let you know how we can help.
Why does Sapele work well for marine interiors?
Sapele is from the same botanical family as Genuine Mahogany and shares its natural resistance to moisture and dimensional stability in humid environments. Its interlocked grain creates a natural resistance to splitting, making it highly durable for the constant moisture exposure of yacht interiors and boat cabinetry. South Florida’s marine industry — from Fort Lauderdale to Miami — has long specified Sapele for high-end marine interior work.
