ISPM-15 Heat Treatment — What You Need to Know
All wood packaging material used in international trade must comply with ISPM-15 — the international phytosanitary standard that prevents pest transmission through wood crating. Non-compliant crates are rejected or destroyed at customs.
- Wood must be heat-treated to 56°C core temperature for 30+ continuous minutes
- All bark must be removed — debarked lumber only
- Each piece must carry the IPPC mark with HT designation and producer code
- Required for export to EU, Brazil, China, and 180+ member countries
- Plywood and OSB panels are ISPM-15 exempt — no treatment required
- We stock HT-stamped SYP and SPF — ready to ship, no wait time
