South Florida’s Roofing Lumber & Plywood Source Since 1983

Every re-roof in Miami-Dade and Broward County starts with the right deck. Whether your crew is re-sheating after a storm, replacing rotted fascia boards, or cutting new soffit panels, International Plywood stocks the APA-stamped CDX plywood, Southern Yellow Pine fascia lumber, and pressure-treated framing you need — ready for same-day flatbed delivery to your job site.

We are not a big-box store. We are a wholesale distributor. That means real contractor pricing, real inventory on the floor, and a team that knows the difference between 19/32″ and 23/32″ CDX — and why it matters in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone. Hablamos Español.

STRUCTURAL ROOF SHEATHING

CDX Plywood — APA Stamped Domestic

The backbone of every South Florida re-roof. Our domestic CDX panels carry the APA Rated Sheathing stamp, confirming span ratings, veneer grades, and exposure classification. Both thicknesses below meet Florida Building Code requirements for roof sheathing in Miami-Dade HVHZ when installed per the prescriptive fastening schedule.

Product Thickness Span Rating Exposure Grade / Stamp HVHZ Use
19/32" (5/8") CDX Plywood 19/32" (nom. 5/8") 32/16 Exposure 1 APA Rated Sheathing • Domestic FBC COMPLIANT
23/32" (3/4") CDX Plywood 23/32" (nom. 3/4") 48/24 Exposure 1 APA Rated Sheathing • Domestic FBC COMPLIANT

Why 5/8" or 3/4"?

  • HVHZ prescriptive code requires minimum 19/32" for most rafter spacings up to 24" o.c.
  • 23/32" provides added stiffness for tile roofing systems — less deflection under dead load
  • APA stamp confirms the panel was manufactured to PS 1 or PS 2 performance standard
  • Domestic panels — no import lead-time risk, consistent grading
  • Ring-shank or screw fasteners required in HVHZ — CDX holds both securely
  • Order by the unit or full truckload — wholesale pricing on both

Contractor tip: Always verify your Miami-Dade NOA compliance — panel stamp alone is not sufficient. Confirm fastening schedule (6″/6″ field/edge minimum for HVHZ) with your building department or engineer of record.

Miami-Dade HVHZ — What Your Crew Needs to Know

The High Velocity Hurricane Zone covers all of Miami-Dade County and parts of Broward. Roof sheathing thickness, fastening schedule, and panel span rating must all match the approved NOA for your roofing system. Our team can help you confirm the right spec for your job. We stock the panels — you bring the plan set.

SOFFIT PANELS

Wood Soffits — Sanded Plywood

Smooth, paintable sanded plywood panels cut to size for soffit applications on residential and light commercial rooflines. Used by South Florida roofers and trim carpenters for eave closures, open-overhang infill, and replacement of deteriorated soffit boards.

Product Thickness Sheet Size Face Grade Typical Use
Sanded Plywood — Soffit 3/8" 4' × 8' Sanded, paint-ready Shallow-overhang eaves, light soffit infill
Sanded Plywood — Soffit 1/2" 4' × 8' Sanded, paint-ready Standard soffit replacement, wider overhangs
  • Smooth face accepts primer and paint in one coat — no filler required
  • 1/2" preferred where wind uplift or impact exposure is a factor
  • Seal all edges and back face before installation to resist South Florida humidity
  • Available by the sheet or full lift — call for current pricing

Upgrade opportunity: For high-moisture or coastal exposure, ask about MDO (Medium Density Overlay) panels — factory-sealed face, superior dimensional stability vs. standard sanded plywood.

FASCIA BOARDS

Fascia Lumber — SYP & Finger-Jointed Pine

The fascia is the face of the roof edge — it takes direct sun, rain, and salt air every day. We stock the sizes South Florida roofing crews use most: 1×6, 1×8, and 2×6, 2×8 in 16-foot lengths. Choose between solid Southern Yellow Pine, kiln-dried SYP, or primed finger-jointed pine for paint-grade applications.

Product Size Length Species / Type Best For
1 x 6 Fascia Board 1" × 6" (3/4" × 5-1/2" actual) 16' Southern Yellow Pine • KD Standard residential fascia, shallow overhangs
1 x 8 Fascia Board 1" × 8" (3/4" × 7-1/4" actual) 16' Southern Yellow Pine • KD Wider roof edges, two-story homes, commercial trim
2 x 6 Fascia / Barge 2" × 6" (1-1/2" × 5-1/2" actual) 16' Southern Yellow Pine • #2 & Btr Barge boards, heavy-duty fascia, rafter tails
2 x 8 Fascia / Barge 2" × 8" (1-1/2" × 7-1/4" actual) 16' Southern Yellow Pine • #2 & Btr Wide barge boards, exposed rafter framing, commercial
1×6 SYP — Southern Yellow Pine 3/4" × 5-1/2" actual 16' Southern Yellow Pine • Select Premium fascia, smooth paint surface
1×8 SYP — Southern Yellow Pine 3/4" × 7-1/4" actual 16' Southern Yellow Pine • Select Wide fascia runs, premium finish applications
Primed Finger-Jointed Pine Various widths 16' Finger-Jointed Pine • Factory Primed Paint-grade fascia, straight boards, cost-effective trim

SYP vs. Finger-Jointed — Which to Spec?

  • SYP (Southern Yellow Pine): dense, rot-resistant, holds fasteners tightly — preferred for exposed fascia in South Florida
  • Finger-Jointed Pine: factory-primed, straight, minimal knots — cost-effective for interior-protected or capped-fascia applications
  • In coastal/salt-air zones, prime and paint both species within 48 hours of installation
  • For ground-contact or soil-adjacent applications, upgrade to ACQ pressure-treated SYP
  • KD (kiln-dried) stamp reduces shrinkage and splitting after installation
FRAMING & STRUCTURAL

Pressure-Treated Lumber — 2×6 & 2×8

Florida Building Code requires ACQ or equivalent pressure treatment for all lumber in contact with concrete, masonry, or soil — including roof-to-wall connection plates, ledger boards, and any framing exposed to weather. Our 2×6 and 2×8 PT lumber is Southern Yellow Pine, #2 & Better, treated to AWPA UC4B standards.

Product Size Length Treatment Use Category
2×6 Pressure-Treated Lumber 1-1/2" × 5-1/2" actual 16' ACQ .25 pcf (above grade) UC3B — Above Ground / Exposed
2×8 Pressure-Treated Lumber 1-1/2" × 7-1/4" actual 16' ACQ .25 pcf (above grade) UC3B — Above Ground / Exposed

Important: ACQ treatment is corrosive to standard bright zinc fasteners. Use only hot-dip galvanized (G185) or stainless steel connectors and fasteners per FBC §2304.10.5. Do not use electroplated or mechanically galvanized fasteners with ACQ lumber.
