What Is CDX Plywood?

CDX plywood is a structural softwood plywood classified by its veneer grades and glue type:

C face — allows knots, repairs, and natural defects; utility grade, not for appearance
D back — lower grade back; structural use only
X (Exterior glue) — moisture-resistant adhesive that holds up to weather exposure during construction
